Terms of Use and Licence

These terms are an agreement between you and FOP Holobor Tetiana Mykhailivna, an individual entrepreneur registered in Ukraine (Sadovyi 6/13, Berezan, Brovary district, Kyiv region, 07541, Ukraine), the owner of RayTask ("we", "us"). They cover the RayTask application for macOS, its updates and this website. By installing, using or buying RayTask you accept them. If you do not accept them, do not use RayTask.

1. What RayTask is

RayTask is a desktop application for photographers that copies photos from memory cards, helps you review and organise them, and analyses them on your Mac. Your photos are processed on your own computer and are not uploaded to us.

2. Beta

While RayTask is labelled beta it is free to use. Beta versions can contain errors and may change or stop working. Keep your own backup of your photos.

3. Licence

• We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to install and use RayTask on one Mac per licence, for personal or commercial photography, for as long as your licence is valid.
• Subscription (monthly or yearly): the licence is valid while the subscription is active and paid.
• One-time purchase: the licence covers RayTask version 1.x and every 1.x update without time limit. A later major version (2.0 and up) may be sold separately.
• You may move your licence to another Mac by signing out on the old one.
• RayTask remains our property. You may not resell, rent, sublicense or distribute it, remove notices, or circumvent its licence checks. You may not decompile or reverse engineer it except where the law allows this despite this restriction.

4. Trial, payment and renewal

• Monthly and yearly plans start with a 7-day free trial. A payment method is required to start it. If you do not cancel before the trial ends, the first payment is taken and the subscription renews automatically each month or year until you cancel.
• You can cancel at any time through the link in your receipt email or by writing to [email protected]. After cancelling you keep access until the end of the period you paid for.
• Orders are processed by our online reseller, which acts as the merchant of record, handles payment and taxes, and issues your receipt. Its own terms apply to the payment.
• Prices are shown in USD on our website. Taxes are added at checkout where they apply. We may change prices for future periods; a change never affects a period you have already paid for, and we will tell subscribers before it applies to them.

5. Account, activation and internet

Paid use requires signing in (for example with Google) and activating the licence on your Mac. RayTask contacts our licence server to confirm the licence and must reach it at least once every 7 days. When the licence is not valid, RayTask stops working until it is renewed. Your photo files on disk stay where they are and remain yours.

6. Your photos and the people in them

You are responsible for the photos you process and for having the rights and any consents needed for them. RayTask can find faces and group photos of the same person on your Mac. This data stays on your computer. If you use these features on photos of other people, including children, you are responsible for complying with the privacy laws that apply to you, for example obtaining consent where required. You can delete the face data of a folder at any time in the app.

7. Updates

RayTask can check for updates and installs them only when you choose to. Updates are signed; RayTask refuses an update whose signature does not match.

8. No warranty

RayTask is provided "as is". We work to keep your files safe (originals on the card are only read, and file operations can be undone), but we do not guarantee that RayTask is free of errors, that it suits a particular purpose, or that analysis results such as blur, closed eyes or face groups are correct. Always keep a backup of your photos.

9. Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost profits or lost data, and our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, or your statutory rights as a consumer.

10. Ending the licence

You may stop using RayTask at any time. We may end your licence if you seriously breach these terms. Sections 6, 8, 9 and 11 survive the end of the licence.

11. Law and disputes

These terms are governed by the law of Ukraine. If you are a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the country where you live, and you may bring a claim there. Please write to [email protected] first; most problems can be solved quickly.

12. Changes

We may update these terms. The date at the top shows the latest version. For paid licences, material changes apply from your next billing period, and we will tell you about them in advance.
